USAIM is urgently seeking funding for IOM's Emergency Operations to assist victims of the cholera outbreak in Zimbabwe.
The current cholera outbreak in Zimbabwe is claiming thousands of lives all across the country with worst affected areas in Beitbridge, Harare, Nyamapanda, Chinhoyi, and Kariba. To address this crisis, IOM, as an active member of the UN Health and UN Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) Clusters, focuses on assistance to border areas and mobile and vulnerable population (MVP) settings. MVPs are among the high-risk groups for disease outbreaks in view of the fact that they reside in informal settlements, which have inadequate water and sanitation facilities and that they are highly mobile.
